What

What is the AHA Evange-Ale-ist Program?
The Brewers Association (BA) created the AHA Evange-Ale-ist Program in 2002 to encourage growth in the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) through grassroots efforts. As a homebrew club serving the nation, personal contact and encouragement through current AHA members seems to be the best way to educate homebrewers of the many programs and activities the AHA has to offer.

The purpose of an AHA Evange-Ale-ist is to be a representative of the AHA on a local level and to recruit new members through your local club, homebrewing competitions, and professional festivals and tasting events, to inform the AHA of your local club events and news and to be an AHA representative to your club – keeping them up-to-date on AHA events. If you think you might be interested in spreading the AHA gospel, please sign up with a hearty “Amen” and we’ll get you all the materials needed to participate.

Who is involved?
Our AHA Evange-Ale-ists come from all over the United States and even Canada. These folks are avid homebrewers and/or homebrew shop owners and are promoting the AHA in a grassroots manner. You can even search for an AHA Evange-Ale-ist in your area.

How can I participate as an AHA Evange-Ale-ist?
Participation is as simple as speaking in front of your homebrew club, setting up a booth at a local festival or homebrew competition, or just telling all your friends about the American Homebrewers Association and why they should join. Read through the AHA Evange-Ale-ist Welcome Letter to see if you are interested then sign up online.

Is AHA membership cheaper through an AHA Evange-Ale-ist?
In efforts to encourage growth in your local club and beer enthusiast community an AHA Evange-ALE-ist can offer a discounted rate on AHA memberships. From time to time, the AHA Evange-ALE-ist will also have membership offers on full price memberships that include free AHA gear, books or other merchandise. Keep in touch with your local Evange-ALE-ist for current membership offers.
