Description of this Beer

 A nice malty beer with a hop nose and enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. The roasted character plays well with Northwest hops and Denny's 1450 accentuates the malt character.

Fermentables
Amount & Type of Fementable (grain, extract, sugar, fruit, etc.)

 Assuming 70% mash efficiency:

7 pounds pale malt

1 pound crystal 60L

1/2 pound special roast

1/2 pound victory

1/2 pound chocolate

 

Hops
Amount & Type of Hops, %AA, pellet/whole/plug, time in boil/FWH/Dry Hop/Mash Hop

 1 oz Cascade FWH

1 oz Cascade 20 minutes

1 oz Cascade Dry Hop

 

Other Ingredients
Amount & Type (herbs, spices, wood, finings, etc.), When/Where Added
 

 

Yeast
Type of Yeast (e.g. Wyeast 1056, White Labs WLP001) Amount Pitched
 Wyeast 1450 - Denny's Favorite 50
 Smack Pack

 

Directions
Include mash temps/times, boil times, fermentation temps/duration, etc.
 Mash for an hour at 153. Sparge and boil for an hour adding hops when directed. Cool to 60-70 degrees and pitch yeast. Keep fermentation temps under 70 for 3 weeks and bottle.
