Kölsch
Kölsch. (koelsh)
A very pale, golden-hued, top-fermented beer produced in the metropolitan area of Bonn-Cologne. Under German law, when kölsch is brewed elsewhere in Germany, the name of the locality must precede the word kölsch. it is highly hopped, mildly alcoholic (±3.7 percent alcohol by weight, 4.6 alcohol by volume), and slightly winy in taste.
Etym: From Köln, the German name for the city of Cologne, and kölschbier, a beer from that city.
