A dextrorotatory monosaccharide, member of the class of carbohydrates, occurring naturally in corn and grapes and also found in the blood or formed by the hydrolysis of starch through the action of amylases. 2. The commercial form of refined glucose. Syn: corn sugar; grape sugar; glucose.
