Densimeter

densimeter. (dehn-si'-muh-d:er)

    An instrument for measuring the density or specific gravity of liquids. Like the hydrometer, it consists of a graduated stem resting on a spindle-shaped float weighted with lead, mercury, or pitch. The densitometer is plunged vertically into the liquid and levels off. The density is then read on the graduated stem.
