Crown

Metallic bottle cap designed to be crimped onto the lip of a typical beer bottle.  It will typically have some form of gasket on the inner surface to provide an air tight seal to the bottled beer.  A more recent innovation is a treatment applied to the inner surface which allows the cap to adsorb excess oxygen from the headspace of a capped bottle once the crown has been wetted.
