    Beer sold in cans. An enameled can suitable for packaging beer was first introduced by the American Can Company in 1934–1935, which tested it with the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company in Richmond, Virginia. It met with immediate success, and Pabst and Schlitz came out with canned beer the following year.
