Algarroba Beer

algarroba beer. (al-ga-r~o'-buh beeyr')

    A type of beer brewed in both Central and South America from the sweet ripe beans of the carob, mesquite, or other leguminous trees, especially those of the genus Prosopis. Is is the sacred drink of the Chaco tribes and is forbidden to women. Also spelled: algorobo.
