Adding A Recipe
To add a recipe, follow these instructions.
- Click on the Edit This Page link in the right-side navigation of the page on which you wish to insert a link to your recipe (i.e. if your recipe is a Cream Ale, enter it on the "6A. Cream Ale" page).
- Create a link to a new page by typing in your recipe title surrounded by double brackets (for example, [[MyRecipe]]) below the Recipes in alphabetical order by recipe name. The title within the brackets cannot contain any spaces or symbols other than letter. The wiki software will automatically insert spaces in the text before capitalized letters. You can edit how the title appears once you have created your recipe page.
- If someone has already created a page with the same name as your recipe, you will need to adjust your recipe's name to make it unique (you can adjust the name by adding your name or initials or a date, etc.)
- Click the Save & Close button from the bottom of the editor page
- Click on the link you just created.
- In the page that opens, click Create Page.
- In the Create Page form that opens, the name you entered in the link will appear as the Page Name. For Template, select the appropriate recipe template from the drop-down menu.
- For Beer Recipes, choose BeerRecipesTemplate.
- For Cider Recipes, choose CiderRecipeTemplate.
- For Mead Recipes, choose MeadRecipesTemplate.
- For Wine Recipes, choose WineRecipesTemplate.
- If you already have a recipe in a printable format, you can select the Default template (blank page) instead of a recipe template. Cut and paste your recipe from another file by using the paste function in the editor tool bar (you may experience problems if you paste without using the tool bar).
- Fill in the recipe template and hit the Save & Close button.
- Your recipe will then be posted for others to see.
